A Fistful of Scrolls

Variety in TTRPGs

I recently played in a session run by my wonderful partner which was something of a "beach episode". It featured my two characters participating in a tourney hosted by the lord of their home town, and provided a great break from the tense cult-ridden hexcrawling that the campaign has been otherwise.

These sort of narrative breaks, even if randomly generated by some sort of city events table or similar, can divide a long campaign up into digestible chunks, which I believe is very important. Whilst players may well have a less burdensome job than a GM, it can still help to maintain focus across multiple sessions by providing these sort of narrative breaks.

First post done :)
